Congratulations to Jack and Connie who have received Swimsounds’ Swimmer of the month awards for October! All pupils have worked extremely hard since returning from our summer break and after a long debate between our coaches we decided to award two pupils the award this month.   After two weeks back Swimsound have been delighted to see their swimmers progress over the holidays. The first week back saw us secure a giant inflatable in our Broadgreen venue which all our pupils enjoyed. It was by no means an easy obstacle course with a climbing wall, tree stumps and a giant slide to manoeuvre up. On Thursday the 9th July Swimsound hosted their annual Summer gala. This is an event which brings together all our advanced swimmers to participate in a team competition to conclude the year.  The swimmers were split into teams with three team captains, Ian, Mark and Bryony. There were a host of races which ended in a freestyle and medley relay. When the final scores were added Mark and Bryony’s team had drew level on points. Congratulations to Dervla who has been awarded Swimsound’s Swimmer of the month for May. Dervla always works hard in her lessons and aspires to join our advanced programme. Recently her front crawl technique has been fantastic and her streamlining and efficiency have really improved.   On Sunday one of our members Laura competed in the Liverpool marathon to raise money for SMA a charity very close to her, after over 26 gruelling miles Laura completed the marathon in just over 5 hours, despite injuring her knee at the halfway point. We are delighted at her endeavour and perseverance in order to support a charity so close to her. Swimsound are delighted to announce that the swimmer of the month for April was Lilia. Lilia has worked extremely hard to develop her technique over the last term and consistently puts 100% effort into all her sessions. She leads our advanced lane session and always sets a good example to other pupils.
